Whether experiencing relationship difficulties, financial hardship, legal problems, job loss, health problems, or financial stress, trusting God in hard times is the best option we have for victorious living.
How do you get through tough times? The answer is found in Psalm 107 verse 19 through 22. Read it with me below:
Then they cried to the Lord in their trouble,
and he delivered them from their distress.
20 He sent out his word and healed them,
and delivered them from their destruction.
21 Let them thank the Lord for his steadfast love,
for his wondrous works to the children of man!
22 And let them offer sacrifices of thanksgiving,
and tell of his deeds in songs of joy!
Most people say that the first thing to do during tough times is to pray to God and I would like to qualify that statement. Don't just pray but WEEP and CRY OUT to God in times of need. Pour out your heart before Him and He will deliver you from your distress. And when He has delivered you, thank the Lord and give Him praise. Remember the 4Ps of deliverance, namely:
Predicament - Acknowledge the uncomfortable and difficult situation you face. Don't sugarcoat. Isaiah said "I am a man of unclean lips and David admitted that "The sorrows of death compassed me, and the floods of ungodly men made me afraid." Psalm 116:3. Jesus cried out "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me? Why are you so far from saving me, so far from my cries of anguish? 2 My God, I cry out by day, but you do not answer, by night, but I find no rest" (Psalm 22).
2. Petition (Crying Out) - Petition is the cry for deliverance from that danger.
3. Pardon - Pardon is the merciful deliverance provided by God after you cry out to Him.
4. Praise - Pardon leads to Praise. Praise is a vital part of a life surrendered to God, and it
gives credit where credit is due. “O that men would praise the Lord for his goodness,
and for his wonderful works to the children of men!” (Psalm 107:8 KJV).
